Rotary Club of Yerevan was founded in 1990, as a newly established Club. It was sponsored by Rotary Club of Aubusson, France.
On November 13, 1996, the Club was officially accepted by the Rotary International Executive Committee.
On May 24, 1997, the presentation of the Official Club Charter was introduced by Mr. P. Apostolitis (Thessaloniki, Greece), the Administrator of the Rotary International Special Extension Area for the period from 1996 to 1997.
Mr. Edouard Calefas (Monpelier, France) was the Administrator of Rotary International Special Extension Area for the period from 1997 to 1999, and Mr. Rudolf Hoendler (Neumarkt, Germany) held the corresponding position for the period from 1999 to 2004.
In September 2004, Rotary Club of Yerevan was accepted in the District 2450 that comprises Cyprus, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan, Bahrain, UAE and Georgia Rotary Clubs. Munir Sabet (Egypt) was elected as the District Governor for 2004-2005 Rotary Year, and Kevork Mahdessian (Cyprus) as the Governor Assistant/Coordinator for the newly admitted Clubs.
Each year the permanent celebrations for the official recognition of the Rotary Club of Yerevan, the first Rotary Club in the Trans Caucasian Region take place.
Currently, the Club has 34 members, including 4 women.
Weekly meetings are held on Wednesdays at 19.00, at Ani Plaza hotel.
