Accomplished Projects:

• In cooperation with Armenian Dental Society of Los Angeles, the Mobile Dental Clinic was stationed in Dasghhadsor at Diramayr Hayasdan Camp for 17 days. During this period one hundred and ten children at the camp from different parts of Armenia were treated for tooth problems. The Camp provides shelter for about 200 children in each session, from orphanages as well as from different regions of Armenia with socio economically deprived families.
• With the generous donation of Knarig Zahgouni from Los Angeles, forty eight pairs of winter boys' booths were purchased for the orphans and socio-economically deprived children ages 6-18 at the Orphanage in Vanadsor, Armenia.
• A Karaoke was bought for Houso Ayki with generous donation of Knarig Zahgouni.
• A fund raising concert was organized at the Komitas Chamber of Music Home, Performance by Violinist Tigran Mahdesyan, who donated his talent and time. At the same event an exposition of paintings on silk was organized and 15% of the sale revenue was donated towards the fund. The fund was used for children projects.
• A playground at the Ajapniag Kindergarten was opened for the kindergarten children as well as for the children in Ajapniag community to use. Eight members from RC Yerevan were present, Gayane Tovmasyan, Mariam Fainberg, Gorion Danielyan, Kegham Minasyan, Ardavast Yaghshibekyan, Arthur Miroyan, Madeleine Tashjian and two members from RC Gyumri, Ashod Garabedyan and Garen Hamparsoumyan. This playground will also serve for the community children, since there is no other playground in the area. Happy children and parents from the kindergarten as well as the community were present at the opening of the playground. The children presented a show, dancing and singing. This project was a joint activity with Rotary Club of Issy Les Moulinaux, France, the Municipality of Issy Les Moulinaux, France and Rotary Club of Yerevan.
• Another day was to be celebrated.The opening ceremony of the completion for a new roof Zvartnots Kindergarten, Edchmiadzine as well as the construction of a new playground. This was a joint project with Municipality of Issy Les Moulinaux, Rotary Club of Les Moulinaux and Rotary Club of Yerevan. A large crowed of happy students, children from the community and parents were present. The students had prepared a show in French, singing, dancing and reciting. Present at the Celebration were Nicole Yessaian, the Vice Mayor of Issy Les Moulinaux City of France; Patrick Fougerolle, Past President Rotary Club of Issy Les Moulinaux; as well as five members from Rotary Club of Yerevan; Mariam Fainberg, Arthur Miroyan, Kegham Minasyan, Andrias Hambardzumian, Madeleine Tashjian and Michael Hambardzumian, from Rotaract.
• In cooperation with Boghossian Educational center in Gyumri, Sawing Material and Thread was given to Noubarashen orphanage for the older girls to learn embroidery and sawing. This will also help them to make their own clothes.
• In cooperation with Boghossian Educational Center in Gyumri, warm clothes were distributed to all three hundred and eleven (311) residents at Dastagert town in Sissyan region, Syunik Marz.


• On January 10, in cooperation with Boghossian Educational Center, Gyumri, warm clothes were taken to Noubarashen orphanage for 113 children.
• January 11th, in cooperation with Boghossian Educational Center, Gyumri, warm clothes was taken to Kharpert orphanage for 123 children.
• With the efforts of Sunday School Children of St. Vartan Church in Oakland California, $1,600 (Sixteen hundred US dollars) was raised to purchase winter booths for the children at Noubarashen orphanage. On March 24th, 97 pairs of winter booths and 84 pairs summer shoes were purchased and taken for the children at Noubarashen.
• In April more sawing materials were taken to Noubarashen Orphanage donated by Boghossian Educational Center in Gyumri.
• To support Summer Camp in Dsaghgatsor $1,500 (one thousand five hundred US Dollars) were transferred to Diramayr Hayastani Jambar to sponsor 10 children from different parts of Armenia to attend the camp.
• Canada Rotary Club of Scarborough $2861.76 (two thousand eight hundred sixty one and .76 Us Dollars) was transferred for Boghossian Educational Center in Gyumri.
• A new Playground was constructed for a kindergaten in Shengavit area.

Ambassadorial Scholars

• From January 2-9 2009 we hosted two Ambassadorial Scholars from Dubai, Brian Pellot and Shane Nollan. Our club member, Manuk Kevorkyan, hosted the two Ambassadorial Scholars at his residence during their visit in Yerevan. The two scholars had various meetings with the Rotaract members.
